treasureI hope you’ll enjoy this wonderful Facebook post that I received yesterday from my friend and mentor, Barbara Winter. It’s a snippet of life with her grandson. And, I’m sending out a big THANK YOU! to her for allowing me to share it with you:

“That was a lively visit. Zachy emptied my silverware chest, filled it up with things from the bathroom counter, and hid it. Then I, wearing the headlamp from his detective gear, was enlisted to find the missing treasure. We had several rounds of this and each time he acted as if he’d never seen the wonders we uncovered before. I love this kid!”

What does that story say to you or do for you?  How does it speak to success and prosperity in your business and/or your life? This brief, five sentence recollection inspired me to claim some jewels (hmmmm — perhaps in a missing treasure box?) that definitely add sparkle to my business and my life.  I found at least four gems I can use to live into my own success and prosperity EVERY DAY!

PLAY!  Instead of tedious to-do lists, how can I PLAY while I’m building my business and living a prosperous life?  Where’s the fun?

DELIGHT  IN EVERYDAY LIFE!  What wonders of everyday life am I overlooking in my busy-ness?  What can I see with a ‘different’ eye? What delights my senses, makes me smile, makes my heart sing, brings me joy?

TEAMWORK!  Who do I want on my team and on whose team will I participate fully and with abandon?

LOVE!  How can I express love in every aspect of my life — with myself, with others, with my business or career, with my money?

What gems did you find in this little story?

TODAY’S TIP: Experience PLAY, DELIGHT, TEAMWORK, and LOVE in your business and your life today and take a moment to share what happened for you! Have a FABULOUS AND FUN Friday!

Sailing Jean’s 7 “C’s” of Success

sailboat2No, today’s blog post won’t be about winds, tides or boats.  We’re just going to do a brief revisit of Jean’s 7 “C’s” of Success and I’ll share a couple of ways you can use them!  If you’re someone who would like to enjoy more success and prosperity in your business, your relationships, your finances or any facet of your life, you can start by doing a quick review of the 7 “C’s”.

1.  Clarity
2.  Courage
3.  Change
4.  Commitment
5.  Completion
6.  Celebrate
7.  Connections

In which of the seven are you the strongest or most consistent?  Which one is the most challenging?  Where can you direct your focus so that you can gain maximum forward movement toward your goals and dreams?  How will you do that?

Use the above questions for a daily check-in and check-up.

Or, simply to focus on one “C” per day, every day of the week.  You can start with #1 and go straight through the list.

Or, write each “C” on an index card and pull one (or more) each day and focus on that topic.

Or, get in touch with me at to learn how together, we can use the 7 “C’s” for Success to create  your own personalized Anything-but-Boring Success Guide.

TODAY’S TIP:  Review Jean’s 7 “C’s” of success, apply them to a facet of your business or your life, and let me know how you will use them by posting below. Have a successful and prosperous Tuesday!

WOW!  Is it just me or did that week zip right by?  This is it.  The big finish.  Today is our #7 “C” in Jean’s 7 “C’s” for Success:  connectionsCONNECTIONS!

None of us have gotten to where we are in our businesses or our lives completely on our own.  We’ve had support along the way.  The same is true of our success. Great connections will help us accomplish great success.

Here’s my two-fold offer to you today:  first of all, I’d like to be part your Personal Success Support Team. What information or resources to you need to grow the successful, prosperous business or live the life you’ve been dreaming about? Where are you stuck? Secondly, I’d like you to be part of my Personal Success Support Team! I’m looking for entrepreneurs and life adventurers who are ready to embrace success in their businesses and/or their lives. 7 C’s of Success – Take 2!

If you’ve been a regular reader of this blog, you may recall that last week at this time I planned to do a week-long series on success.  I had started the series before I left on a four-day trip with the intention of finishing up the posts and getting them online when I returned.  However, while I was away, I learned of the bombings at the Boston Marathon and then on Wednesday the horrific explosion occurred in West, Texas.  With those two incidents in mind, I chose to shift my focus elsewhere for the remainder of the week.

jeanmorehouse_workbookcoverAs we launch into a new week, I’m ready to start again. Sometimes I think success is exactly like that.  You decide what you want to do. You get started.  Things don’t go as planned. You take a little break. You re-evaluate.  And, you start again.  You know, that sounds just like my P.I.E.S. (Plan, Implement, Evaluate, and get Support) Business Breakthrough Kit!  If you’re ready to do something different to grow your business or change your life for the better, stop by my website, get your FREE copy of P.I.E.S. and get started.

And be sure to read Tips for Success in Business and Life tomorrow when I’ll be re-launching my 7 C’s of Success series.

Have a marvelous Monday!

TODAY’S TIP:  Stop by, pick up your FREE copy of my P.I.E.S. (Plan, Implement, Evaluate, and get Support) Business Breakthrough Kit and take action so you can grow a successful and prosperous business and live the life you truly want to live!

I had a few days away from the computer in the past week visiting wonderful friends and celebrating the organization of a new church congregation, Woyatan Lutheran Church, in Rapid City, SD.  Western South Dakota is one of my favorite places.  The beauty and spirit of the Black Hills, the Badlands and the people who live there feeds and nourishes my soul.

In preparation for the trip, and thanks to the wonders of technological scheduling, I wrote several days worth of posts before I left.  I thought it would be a good time to start a week-long series about success.  I wrote the first two pieces and was planning to get back from the trip and continue on for the rest of the week.  Unfortunately, in the interim, we had the bombings at the Boston Marathon and then, last evening, the horrendous incident in West, Texas.

In light of this, I’m going to take a bit of editorial liberty and resume the success series next week.  Although I did not personally know anyone affected by the bombings in Boston or, thus far, am unaware that I have connections with those touched by the disaster in Texas, I do know that my heart is aching right now for everyone who has been affected or knows someone affected by what’s happened this past week.

Again we are reminded of the fragility of life.  Take time today to relish in the joys and challenges in your life and share some love with all those you encounter today.

TODAY’S TIP:  Pray for strength, grace, compassion, healing and peace in your own heart, in your family, in your community and in the world.   Have a love-filled Thursday.

7 C’s of Success

Just for fun, in the upcoming week, I want to share Jean’s 7 C’s of Success.  They have been a great resource to me in my journey to growing a prosperous, successful business and living a joy-filled life!  When I’m feeling as though things aren’t turning out as I’d hoped, I can run a quick check of my 7 C’s to see where I might need to put some focus and energy to get me moving forward again.

What seven words that begin with the letter “c” would you use to help you to become more successful and prosperous and live a more joyful life?  Let’s see how many we share, shall we?  Here we go:

Jean’s 7 C’s of Success
#1.  Clarity

This is almost a mantra of mine: In order to get where you want to go, you’ve gotta be clear about where you’re going.  The same applies to growing a successful business or living the life you want.  Be clear about what that looks like.  And, for those of you who may be saying (or even whining — I know you’re out there!  I’ve done it myself!) “But, I don’t KNOW what I want!”  start by thinking about what you don’t want!  Think about all those things you truly enjoy.  Think about the people, activities and stuff that bring fun and joy into your life!  And if you still can’t get clear — contact me at  I’ll help you figure it out.

TODAY’S TIP:  Take at least 10 minutes and write down what ‘success’ looks like to you in your business and your life.  Have a CLEAR Tuesday!

Your Favorite CEO

I’d love to know the name of your favorite CEO.  Better still — what are the names of the top 3 CEO’s you respect and admire?  Who made it on your list?  What is it about those people that you admire? What criteria did you use to determine that they were your favorites?

CEO’s handle a lot of responsibility.  They inspire others to live out the vision and values of an organization, they make tough decisions and they are responsible for managing the resources of the organization and keeping the lines of communication open in all parts of the organization and even beyond!

Did you include yourself on the list?  Why or why not?

We are all the CEO’s of our own lives. Each one of us has the potential to be a successful, prosperous and even courageous leader! Consider this: we have our own vision and values to live into each day, we make tough decisions relating to the use of our resources and it’s important to keep the lines of communication open with others.

Take a look at the list of qualities that you admire in your favorite CEO’s. How do those qualities show up in the CEO who is responsible for your life?

TODAY’S TIP: As the CEO of your business and life, check in with at least 5 members of your Board (employees, family, friends, etc.) and ask what leadership qualities they most admire in you.  And, support them by sharing the leadership qualities you most admire in each of them.  Have a great Friday!
